Tom Bancroft is a jazz drummer.
His career to date has had 3 main parts:
1. He has played drums with a wide range of musicians from jazz, folk and world music.
2. He is a composer for a series of groups as well as projects for dance, film, and theatre.
3. He is interested in promoting the art and joy of improvisation through releasing CDs, education work, and performance events like Kidsamonium, Clandemonium, and Whose Solo is it Anyway

9/2011 Tom Bancroft Trio Red
New project with great pianist Tom Cawley (Acoustic Ladyland, Curios) and Norwegian bass player
Per Zanussi (Zanussi 5, Bugge Wesseltoft, Arve Henriksen) featuring tunes by Tom B., plus some made
up on the spot and some covers and mash ups.
7/2011 Trio AAB & Ganesh Kumaresh in Edinburgh
In July 2011 Trio AAB ,as part of the connection between Edinburgh and India, perfromed a new collabaration with star Southern Indian violin brothers Ganesh Kumaresh from the Carnatic tradition.
4/2011 Trio AAB play to 10,000+ at Delhi Jazz Festival
Scottish jazz group Trio AAB closed the first ever Delhi jazz Festival in April 2011 to an audience of 10000+ people in a set that included a collaboration with 4 North Indian musicians on sarangi, sitar, flute, and tabla. The project was supported by the British Council, Edinburgh International Jazz Festival, the Indian Council of Cultural Relations, and Delhi Jazz Festival.
